Hand inked 8mm film projected onto a few objects which were then acquired with a Nikon D50 and recompiled into video.

Grid Pro+Quartz Composer=Sexy (2006, 3.15MB, 1:28 min)
This is a short test of Grid Pro Cocoa’s ability to play Quartz Composer files using an RSS Feed Reader and a simple camera input. Being able to mix any RSS feeds (like content from my own blog) together with live video is prety darn sexy and elegant. I threw in a little Boards of Canada just for the hell of it.

Me playing around with the builtin iSight on my Mac Book Pro and Gawker. Gawker is a free application for OS X that allows you to frame grab and compile timelapse movies from any firewire video device or your desktop. It has a few nifty network aware features so check it out.

On our way from Savannah to Myrtle Beach we encountered a very energetic storm front. I was lucky enough to capture a lightning strike with my camera. I was also fortunate to be close enough for my camera’s electronics to pick up the EM pulse; which you can hear as a high pitched noise in this loop.

The Gasman (2005, 7.7MB, 10 sec)
This is a 10 second animation experiment I put together the other night using AE (for the first time). The Gasman character and sky were were created in PS. I found the backdrop via google image search (keywords: bombed out) and mucked with it a bit using PS. Sound effects came from some tedious Googling and Altavista audio searching… who knew something simple like rain sounds would take so long to find. Everything was composited and animated in AE.

Panoramic Jitters (2005, 2.81MB, 11 sec loop)
Further experiments in shooting with the camera on it’s side. I shot this about a week ago just before 7am when the morning light pours through the south facing windows of our house. Standing on an ancient metal table fan (think ottoman with blades) I shot a very rough grid of the room in several second bursts. 9 clips and their audio make up the final piece.
